You climb, and climb, going higher and higher, and quickly start to feel the thrill and incredible sensation of ascending a rocky cliff-face. Tackle a series of obstacles: rope bridge, footbridges, ladders, all safely under control, follow the “rail way” (the Italian translation of ‘via ferrata’) in total safety,on your own or under the watchful eye of a guide.
In Coeur de Tarentaise, specifically in the Belleville Valley, you’ll find 2 open access routes : Le Cochet and Le Levassaix via ferratas (Belleville guides).
As a bonus, you’ll also be able to try via ferrata on the Lac de la Rosière in Courchevel (Aventure sensation).
With its beautiful pale quartzite cliffs,Le Cochet overlooks the village of Saint Martin de Belleville.
Le Cochet via ferrata is installed on this eastern-facing rocky cliff-face.

How do you get here?
From Saint Martin de Belleville, head towards LeChâtelard. At LeChâtelard, take the unmade road towards La Chat andTétonwhich will take you to the Plalautray hamlet car park. From the car park, follow signs to the Le Cochet Via Ferrata. (20mins walk). Don’t go in the direction of Les Encombres Valley.

This via ferrata has been installed on a rocky outcrop over the village of Le Levassaix.
This is a good route for getting started with via ferrata. The activity takes place on mountain terrain and requires perfect technical know-how.

Difficulty scale: A bit difficult
Duration: 90mins there and back
Start altitude: 1,800m
Finish altitude: 1,880m
Approach time: 15 minutes
Equipment required: Helmet, harness, lanyard attached to a shock absorber.

How do you get here?
Le Levassaix Via Ferrata is located 1km from Les Menuires. The signposted car park is located next to the road, alongside Le Levassaix village.
It’s accessible in 15 minutes via a path from the car park next to the resort access road.
