The commune of Salins-Fontaine is formed of 2 villages: Salins-les-Thermes, the administrative centre (alt. 490m) and Fontaine-le-Puits, (alt.1,104m).
Salins-les-Thermes enjoys a prime geographical location close to Moûtiers’ shops and services and just 6km from the thermal spa resort of Brides-les-Bains. On the way to your snowsports holiday or to a nature break in the Vanoise National Park, the village is in the perfect place to explore the Tarentaise.
This thermal spa resort formerly specialised in the treatment of skin conditions and rheumatism and boasted a thermal centre from 1820 which led to its development as a health tourism destination. Nicknamed “The Alpine Sea’ because of its high rate of water production (5 million litres a day!), Salins has kept its thermal swimming pool with naturally hot water and a massage jet pool.
At the entrance to the Belleville valley, Fontaine-le-Puitsis the perfect spot for family hikes and walks. It offers uninterrupted views over the nearby Vanoise, Les 3 Vallées and MontBlanc summits!

A lovely trail alongside the water connecting Salins to the thermal resort of Brides-les-Bains. A really wonderful family walk that offers pleasant shade in summertime. Benches and picnic tables make it easy to stop and take breaks.
Les Belvédères trail (Salins-Fontaine)
A lovely trail themed around the life of the forest that leads to the“Belvédères des Ravières” and the “Pierre de l’Aigle”, perfect places to stop off for a picnic!
If you’re having fun and would like to continue further, this littlegem of a trail leads all the way to the Pointe du Cuchet (Remarkable views over MontBlanc, Grande Casse and Niélard).
