12th Ski Cross World Cup in Val Thorens
THE SKI CROSS WORLD CUP COMES TO VAL THORENS ON 12 AND 13 DECEMBER
For the twelfth year running, the Val Thorens Sports Club is organising the Ski Cross World Cup! For this year's event, a number of improvements have been made to make it even more impressive than before.
WHAT IS SKI CROSS?
Skicross originated at the end of the 1990s in the United States, where the first Winter X Games were held.
The principle of skicross is quite simple, consisting of a race along a course made up of various natural or artificial elements such as moguls, banked curves or ski jumps.
Four by four, the skiers race down the course as quickly as possible. Only the top two in each run qualify for the next stage, right through to the grand final!
Skicross has been an Olympic event since the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games.
THE 2-DAY PROGRAMME
- 12 December from 13:30 to 15:00: finals
- 13 December from 12.40pm to 2.10pm: finals
