Each of the motifs on this work is situated between Portugal and Savoie: the mountains, the necklace and the hearts on her outfit for Savoie, and the face and characteristic physical features of the woman for Portugal.
She seems to be playing with 2 fawns as if they were puppets. Some may see in this work the theme of Mother Nature.
